The Eastern Conference Finals between the Milwaukee Bucks and Toronto Raptors at Fiserv Forum will begin on Wednesday.
The Eastern Michigan women’s golf team tied Ball State for fourth place in the MAC Championships this weekend at Purgatory Golf Club in Noblesville, Ind. The men’s team finished in a tie with Nebraska for 10th place out of 13 teams in the Hawkeye Invitational at Finkbine Golf Course in Iowa City. The women’s track team competed in the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, Calif. from April 18-19.
The Eastern Michigan baseball team finished a three-game weekend series on the road against Ball State with a record of 1-2 after winning the final game of the series on Saturday, April 13 in Muncie, Indiana. The Eagles lost the first two games before upsetting Ball State 7-5 in Game 3.
The Eastern Michigan gymnastics team placed third at the Mid-American Championships on Saturday in DeKalb, Illinois. The team finished with a 195.350 score, behind Northern Illinois (195.975) and Central Michigan (195.575). The Eagles fell 0.625 points short of winning their fourth conference championship.
Going into its eighth season under head coach, Rob Murphy, the Eastern Michigan men’s basketball team had high optimism for the 2018-19 season. However, the Eagles finished the season with a 15-17 overall record. The team finished third in the MAC West with a 9-9 conference record.
The Eastern Michigan women’s basketball team fought back from a 13-point deficit in the first quarter to win by 10 in the final regular season game of the year. Jenna Annecchiarico led all scorers with 19 points and six assists. The Eagles will stay on the road to play Akron in the first round of the MAC Tournament.
The EMU men’s basketball team earned their 15th victory of the season by defeating Ball State at the Convocation Center on Senior Night. The four seniors combined for 52 points in the 68-61 win. James Thompson IV led the way, scoring 20 points and grabbing 23 rebounds. He also broke the school’s 47-year-old career rebounding record. Paul Jackson and Elijah Minnie also contributed, combining for 30 points.
A stellar rebounding performance led the Eastern Michigan University women’s basketball team (12-12, 5-8 MAC) to a victory over the Akron Zips (14-10, 5-8) 67-60 at home on Wednesday night.
A 22-0 run in the second half led the Eastern Michigan Eagles (12-14, 6-7 MAC) to a win 76-69 over the Toledo Rockets (20-6, 8-5) Tuesday night at the Convocation Center.
Eastern Michigan University’s women’s basketball team fell 67-54 to the Kent State Golden Flashes after a poor shooting performance Wednesday night at the Convocation Center.
