During a tight race to come out on top, the Eastern Michigan Eagles defeated the Toledo Rockets in Cleveland, Ohio by a score of 59-57 today.

The Eagles shot 31.9 percent from the field goal range and shot 36.4 percent from beyond the arc. Their free throw percentage was 78.6 percent. The team grabbed 30 rebounds but only had six turnovers and 13 steals.

Natachia Watkins and Tavelyn James were the lead scorers of the game with 19 points each. Paige Redditt ended the game with 11 points and five rebounds. Olivia Fouty scored four points and recorded ten rebounds.

The Rockets shot 48 percent from the field goal range and 50 percent from the three point arc. The team knocked down all of their free throws. The Rockets hauled down 45 rebounds, 27 turnovers, and four steals.

Yolanda Richardson was the lead scorer for the Rockets with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Courtney Ingersoll scored 14 points for the team and Lecretia Smith knocked down 10 points.

Central Michigan University defeated Bowling Green State University with a score of 69-66. Tomorrow, EMU will take on CMU with the tip-off slated for 1 p.m.
