EMU professor creates inclusive environment for ASD students

“I love that EMU is very friendly and like a small college while having so many resources and teachers who focus on teaching and open to supporting diversity,” said Professor Sally Burton-Hoyle. She is no stranger to diversity as she assists students on the autism spectrum as one of the advisors to the College Supports Program (CSP) at EMU.

Judo Club raises awareness to avoid loss of practice space

Student organizations make up a large part of the EMU community and recently one of them has ended up in a tough spot. EMU’s Judo Club is one of the athletic clubs at EMU and has recently been subject to the potential loss of its practice space in Warner Building, Gym C.

“I see conventions as mini-vacations, a break from the every day to have fun and relax at the same time.” said Carl Henrichs, a Simulation, Animation, and Gaming major at EMU.  For this weekend at least, those words rang true as fans of movies, television, comics, and gaming made their way to the Renaissance Center in Detroit for Midwest Media Expo 2015. The convention’s second year brought new and old faces out for three days of panels, concerts, and activities for attendees to enjoy.
