College students across the country are finding it increasingly difficult to attend school. According to a study from the Wisconsin Hope Lab, 20 percent of all community college students face hunger and 13 percent are homeless. And at 4 year institutions like Eastern, the hidden problems of debt and not having enough money to buy food exists too. That is why EMU’s student food pantry, Swoop, is hosting an all-day food drive in the Student Center, room 346. This will be Monday, through Thursday, May 2- 5. Students and staff are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to donate. Donation boxes will also be available at the front desk of every residence hall on campus.
