In less than a week, I will be receiving a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations. Just short of a month ago, I began interning at Global Ties Detroit, an organization dedicated to international exchange and collaboration. Before entering this internship, I only had a vague idea as to what my degree could accomplish. However, after seeing the impact that Global Ties has had on so many people has encouraged me in my path to working in this field.

Being a dog owner is one of the most rewarding things to be in life. The old saying, “A dog is a man’s best friend,” is not far from the truth. Dogs give us unconditional love and loyalty and have been doing so since before agriculture was invented.

As a senior in college, it’s tough to think that maybe I missed out on a “normal” college experience by being a commuter. To some extent, I did. While the majority of students choose to live on campus for at least one year throughout their education, I was never given a great chance, and as a result, I spent three years as a commuter student (not including 2020 when everyone was considered an online student).

As we dive into the holiday season quickly, it can seem overwhelming and almost impossible to get into the Halloween spirit. The good news is, there’s still hope! Halloween hasn’t arrived yet. So get up, grab a group of friends (or go solo!), cross these things off your October bucket list, and you’ll be back in the Halloween spirit in no time.

Our generation is obsessed with the idea of being different, being bold, and being the center of attention. We do affirmations, wear shiny clothing, and have thousands of Instagram followers. However, it only goes skin deep before our differences are no longer celebrated. When people begin to think outside of the norm and have different opinions and thoughts, it all comes to a screeching halt. When in fact, this is where we should be prospering and building off of each other’s ideas and experiences, learning to love and appreciate people for who they are and not just what they look like. This is something I’d expect would come naturally to such an accepting generation who, as stated previously, celebrate diversity. However, when it comes to an individual’s intellectual or emotional difference, we land at an impasse, and Nicki Minaj has been the most recent victim of this phenomenon.
