Opinion: Movements' new single "Cherry Thrill" sets the tone for the fall

(09/02/22 12:00pm)

Movements, an alternative rock band from California, has been on the rise since Fearless Records signed them in 2015. Despite being a younger band, they have greatly succeeded in the music scene.

Opinion: Mayday Parade's "A Lesson In Romantics" aged like fine wine

(08/23/22 12:00pm)

As we begin the fall semester and Michigan gets colder, it is a good time to snuggle up in a nostalgic blanket and return to our roots. For some of us that may include those early 2000s hip hop anthems, for others, it might consist of the days of being bad at eyeliner but having a good taste in music.

Review: A Day To Remember redeems themselves with new song ‘Miracle’

(08/03/22 12:00pm)

A Day To Remember (ADTR) has been one of the most well-known “emo” bands throughout the century so far. From hits like “The Downfall Of Us All” and “If It Means A Lot To You” to a more recent banger like “Mindreader,” it has been impossible to ignore this rock band.

Opinion: Love songs that will make you swoon

(07/28/22 12:00pm)

Love songs seem to be a weird gray area for many people. On one side, there are the people that love being in love, and hearing that beautiful melody puts them into a trance. On the other hand, plenty of people feel bitterness around these songs mostly because they have had a rough experience with the idea of love.

Review: Bring Me The Horizon's new single 'Strangers' will leave you in awe

(07/21/22 12:00pm)

Bring Me The Horizon has been around the metalcore scene since the scene era took off in the mid-2000s. Now with six studio albums, two live albums, and too many collaborations to count under their belt, they are ready to go back into the scene by themselves.

Opinion: Acoustic versions of songs that are better than the original

(08/15/22 5:17pm)

Now and again, people want to get away from their fast-paced life and just enjoy the simpler things. As many might know on EMU’s campus, that type of living can be too much to bear. There are many ways for people to escape, but the way that seems to be the most helpful is listening to music.

Opinion: Listen to these songs to get the perfect summer vibes

(07/05/22 12:00pm)

Anyone who lives in Michigan would agree that the weather in the state cannot seem to decide what season it is. Since it is July, I am just going to assume it is summer (for now).

Sueco's new single 'Salt' hits too close to home

(06/15/22 12:00pm)

Ever since his release “It Was Fun While It Lasted”, William Schultz, most commonly known as Sueco, has been growing in popularity. Many may know him for the song “Fast," but in humble opinion he has done nothing but grow with his musical and lyrical abilities since.

Silverstein's 'Misery Made Me' can bring out anyone's inner emo kid

(06/02/22 12:00pm)

Silverstein, the alternative rock band from Canada, has been a favorite of early 2000s emo fans and the modern rock scene alike. After blowing up with their song “My Heroine” 17 years ago, they have been loved by many.
