The Ypsilanti Police Department is investigating a murder by a fatal shooting in an Ypsilanti-area park known as Nancy Park.
Monday, Jan. 6
Early Wednesday morning, January 8 at 1:03 a.m., The Eastern Michigan University Police Department emailed all staff and students that an off-campus robbery occurred. The location of the robbery was at Washtenaw Ave. and Cornell Rd. just southwest of campus. The Ypsilanti Police Department responded to the reported robbery at approximately 7:40 p.m. Tuesday night, January 7.
An Ypsilanti Township man was arrested Friday, Dec. 13 after stabbing a 17-year-old girl after a domestic argument, The Ypsilanti Police Department says.

Amin Hasanzadeh, 42, is an Ypsilanti engineer who has been arrested for allegedly stealing confidential information from his employer and sending it to his brother who is connected to Iran’s nuclear weapon industry.
Haab’s, a local restaurant in downtown Ypsilanti, was robbed around 7:48 p.m. on Oct. 31. Ypsilanti Police are now on the lookout for the two masked men who were armed with handguns at the scene.
The Ypsilanti Police Department is investigating a recent burglary of the local non-profit organization, Ypsilanti Meals on Wheels. Their building at 1110 W Cross St. was broken into Oct. 25 at approximately 4:30 a.m. with only their safe being stolen.
