Ypsilanti has long been regarded as living in the shadow of its frequently exalted neighbor, Ann Arbor. This made Thursday night’s Ypsi Lives, held in McKenny Hall’s lounge, extremely refreshing. The event was tailor-made by Ypsilantians for Ypsilantians.
Students of Eastern Michigan University made the trek to Halle Library on the night of Feb. 12 to attend a pro-life abortion panel. The panel was put on by Right to Life of Michigan with the help of Catholics on Campus, and featured a variety of experts, including a medical doctor, a pastor, community and nonprofit directors, and even an EMU student, Angela Little.
The Chinese New Year Party, sponsored by the American-Chinese Student Association, was held on Jan. 31 in the Student Center. It was an enjoyable and authentic experience, as well as a great way to begin the Year of the Horse.
Eastern Michigan University students better clear their schedules for April 2, because EagleFIT’s unique production of “This Is It,” a Michael Jackson tribute, is not something you’ll want to miss. Auditions for the show were held on Thursday, and a wide array of musicians, dancers, singers and actors eagerly awaited their chance to hit the stage and make Jackson proud.
Martin Luther King, Jr. would have been proud if he could have seen the astounding displays of talent that were performed in his honor at the 15th Annual H2E Talent Showcase on Friday night.
