Eastern Michigan University alumnus Paul Fales was located in Japan and reunited with his parents Monday night via Skype on CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360 broadcast.

His parents were unable to get into contact with him following the devastating earthquake and tsunami last Friday and they were “very, very worried,” according to Paul’s father.

Fales said he is fine and even though everything is chaotic in Japan right now, people have been “very generous.”

When speaking with CNN correspondent Soledad O’Brien, Fales said he plans to spend time taking everything “one day at a time.”
