In two separate incidents over the past two days, a female EMU student reported being assaulted just off campus, and another EMU student reported finding bullet holes on the outside of his apartment.

The woman reported that a man approached her at about 9 p.m. Sunday at her apartment in the 900 block of West Cross Street, and he put his hand over her mouth, according to an EMU Police Department information release. She was able to get away, and the man fled on foot.

Ypsilanti Police were unable to locate the suspect while they searched the area.

The police are also investigating reports of shots fired at about 2:15 a.m. Sunday in the 1400 block of Gregory Street in Ypsilanti.

Though police who responded to the call were unable to find anyone or any damage at the scene, an EMU student called several hours later to report bullet holes in his apartment. No suspect information is available.

Anyone with information on either of these incidents can call the Ypsilanti Police Department at 734-483-9510.
