Vigil to be held at EMU for Julia Niswender

Editor’s Note: Updated with parking information

Eastern Michigan University students and friends of Julia Niswender have organized a candlelight vigil in her memory at 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 14 at Big Bob’s Lake House in the center of EMU’s campus.

The Facebook event page reads, “We are inviting the entire EMU community to come to a candlelight vigil in honor of EMU student, Julia Niswender, who passed away early this week. Please join us in honoring the life of Julia, which ended too soon.”

Those interested in attending the vigil are asked to bring their own candles. Donations in the form of a check will be accepted at the vigil for the Julia Niswender Fund, which was set up to help the family with expenses related to the tragedy.

Free parking will be available in the Student Center parking lot.

More information about the vigil can be found on the event’s Facebook page.
