01049 -- EMU Echo Editor Endowed Scholarship:  Provides financial support for the current EMU Echo Editor.

02414 -- Scott Stephenson Eastern Echo Scholarship:  This expendable scholarship is for the benefit of student(s) in the School of Communication, Media & Theater Arts in the College of Arts & Sciences.  It will be awarded to a full or part-time junior or senior EMU student majoring in journalism and working for the Eastern Echo.  The student should be working to self-finance their education and not be eligible for need-based grants.

00825 -- Student Media Development:  Provides support for the Student Media program.

Using Credit Seminar

Eastern Michigan University’s Professional Programs and Training will present a seminar on how to use credit carefully on Thursday, March 20, from 2:30-4:30 p.m. in room 301 at the Student Center.

The seminar is free and LBC approved.

Women in Greek Life

The Eastern Michigan University’s Women’s and Gender Studies Department will host a presentation titled “Women in Greek Life” on Wednesday, March 19 from noon to 1 p.m. in room 300 of Halle Library on campus.

The event is sponsored by the Women’s Resource Center and is a Brown Bag Presentation.
Panel Discussion on Ukraine

An expert panel discussion about the crisis in Ukraine will be held on Tuesday, March 18 from 7-9 p.m. in room 201 of Pray-Harrold. This is a public forum.

Professors on the panel include Volker Krause and Judith Kullberg, both in the political science field, and professor of geography Kelly Vitor-Burke.

Eastern Michigan University’s student organization Gathering Resources to Educate about our Environment and Nature, or GREEN, is hosting Green Week 2014 from Sunday, March 23 to Sunday, March 30. The week’s events are as follows:

Sunday, March 23:

Painting of the Kiosks by the Rec-IM

Monday, March 24:

Giving Garden Seed Starting at the EMU Greenhouse, 1-2 p.m.

Open meeting, DCI boardroom (room 346) Student Center, 5 p.m.

Tuesday, March 25:

Gasland Screening, Documentary and Eco-discussion, Halle Library, 5-8 p.m.

Wednesday, March 26:

GREEN open house, VISION office Student Center, room 346, 5-8 p.m.

Giving Garden Seed Starting, EMU Greenhouse, noon to 1 p.m.

Thursday, March 27:

Kickoff Keynote Address, Eco-Justice Conference, room 202 Porter Hall, 7-9 p.m.

Giving Garden Seed Starting, EMU Greenhouse, 2-4 p.m.

Friday, March 28:

Eco-Justice Conference, Porter Hall, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Green Potluck, Porter Hall third floor, 5:30 p.m.

Saturday, March 29 and Sunday, March 30:

Greening of Detroit, meet at 9 a.m. at the Starbucks in the Student Center and return at 3 p.m.

Alternative Weekend Trip to Detroit: Overnight trip to learn about eco-activism
