The Eastern Michigan University women’s basketball team defeated the Miami University RedHawks Saturday at the Convocation Center 77-66.

The Eagles’ field-goal shooting percentage was 49 percent and their free throw percentage was 52 percent. Overall, the team grabbed 47 rebounds and clenched ten steals.

Natachia Watkins and Paige Redditt both scored 21 points. Watkins pulled down 14 rebounds while Redditt was able to grab 13. Tavelyn James ended the game 18 points. Olivia Fouty helped the Eagles by scoring 12 points and hauling down ten rebounds.

The RedHawks were able to shoot 42 percent from the field goal area and shot 71 percent from the free throw line. All in all, the team grabbed 27 rebounds and had seven steals.

Courtney Osborn was the lead scorer for the Redhawks with 19. Lillian Pitts also helped as she scored ten points and grabbed five rebounds.

The Eagles will stay home for their next game on Feb. 11 against Kent State. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m.
