The headline that wouldn't die: 'Republicans turned off by size of obama's package'

Apparently, a headline from a January 2009 article in The Echo by then columnist Tom Brandt headlined “Republicans turned off by size of obama’s package” is making the rounds on the Internet. To clear up any misconceptions: The story is about the stimulus package. It’s not about the health care bill, or the other thing—a simple Internet search could tell you that.

Today, though, CNN called EMU inquiring about the story and when it was printed. Yesterday, an EMU alum and former candidate for the Texas state House emailed me saying he was going to try to get me fired, because he wasn’t fond of the headline.

What a week.

Stay tuned…I guess.
