U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow will speak at Eastern Michigan University’s President’s Luncheon honoring Martin Luther King, Jr., Monday, Jan. 16 at 1:00 p.m.Senator Stabenow will also be receiving a Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Humanitarian Award from the university for giving back to Michigan communities throughout her years of service.

Also speaking at the luncheon will be Lani Guinier, the first African-American woman to become a tenured professor at Harvard Law School. Guinier will summarize points from her keynote address given earlier in the day. The luncheon will be held in the Student Center Ballroom.

Ticket prices for EMU students are $10; prices for faculty/staff/community members are $20. Tickets can be purchased at the EMU Convocation Center and the EMU Box Office located in the Student Center.
