Eastern Michigan University’s longtime Athletics Administrator Dr. Melody Reifel Werner has announced she will retire at the end of June. Werner has acted as director for Eastern’s Department of Athletics for 18 years. Reifel Werner, who recently celebrated her 57th birthday, believes the timing is right to conclude her successful career in athletic administration.

On May 11, in the final game of Mid-American Conference play at Oestrike Stadium for the 2014 campaign, the Eastern Michigan University men’s baseball team suffered a 15-1 loss to Central Michigan University. The Eagles (17-33, 4-20 MAC) took an early 1-0 lead before the Chippewas (32-20, 17-7) rattled off 15 consecutive runs.
