From 1999 to 2003, the city of Ypsilanti purchased segments of land that now make up the Water Street Redevelopment Area. The Water Street area is now 38-acres of land between the Huron River and Michigan Avenue, adjacent to downtown Ypsilanti. The city’s aim in this purchase was to improve the area and tax base.

It's that time of year to purchase parking permits for the winter 2025 semester. Parking permits will be available for purchase on the Park EMU website starting Monday Dec. 9. All faculty, staff, and students are expected to purchase a permit.

On Friday, Dec. 6, Eastern Michigan University Theatre For the Young Tour brought their latest show, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” to campus. The show was performed in the Sponberg Theatre at 7 p.m. on Dec. 6 and 7, and at 2 p.m. on Dec. 7 and 8. The Dec. 8 performance was accessible with ASL.
