The Eastern Michigan University women’s volleyball team won their final match of the regular season Nov. 10 at the Convocation Center. The Eagles celebrated Senior Night with a 3-2 win against the University of Toledo Rockets (29-27, 23-25, 17-25, 25-21, 15-11).

The Eastern Michigan University women’s volleyball team shone against the Kent State University Golden Flashes at the Convocation Center Nov 3. This was the Eagles’ first time playing against KSU this season, but that didn’t stop them from taking three consecutive sets from the Flashes (25-14, 25-18, 25-14).

The Eastern Michigan University women’s volleyball team won an important match against Central Michigan University Nov. 1 in straight sets (25-19, 27-25, 25-19). The victory brought the Eagles’ record to 16-13 (6-7 Mid-American Conference West), while the Chippewas saw their record fall to 12-12 (6-7 MAC) with their sixth loss in a row.

On a day where Eastern Michigan University was celebrating the football team’s first victory of the year and the women’s soccer team earning their first playoff appearance in two years, the EMU women’s volleyball team followed with a win of their own, a four-set (25-15, 25-22, 24-26, 25-23) victory over the Buffalo University Bulls.

The Eastern Michigan University women’s volleyball team lost their second consecutive home game Oct. 13 in a tough straight set defeat (20-25, 26-28, 31-33) to the Miami Redhawks of Ohio. With the loss, the Eagles stand at 13-11 for the season and 3-5 in the Mid-American Conference. The team is currently in fourth place in the MAC West and if the season ended today, they would earn a playoff spot.

The Eastern Michigan University women’s volleyball team traveled to Muncie, Ind. Oct. 6 to take on the Ball State University Cardinals to end a four game road trip. The match was close, but the team was able to pull off their second straight conference win, 3-1 (22-25, 25-21, 25-23, 26-24).

The Eastern Michigan women’s volleyball team broke their five-match losing streak Sept. 22, when they defeated the Northern Illinois Huskies in straight sets (25-22, 25-19, 25-19). Senior outside hitter Rachel Iaquaniello led the way with 14 kills and 11 digs. Freshman Sierra Reed also had a good performance with 17 digs, which was a match high.
