The Eastern Michigan University men’s basketball team traveled to Detroit to defeat the University of Detroit Mercy at Calihan Hall, Saturday, Dec. 7. The Eagles are now at the top of the Mid-American Conference standings with an 8-1 record. Coming off a win against Valparaiso on Tuesday, Dec. 3, the Eagles were looking to push their streak to two straight wins.

The Eastern Michigan Eagles (7-1) defeated the Valparaiso Crusaders, 85-79, on Tuesday, Dec. 3 at the Convocation Center. The Eagles were led by Ty Groce’s 23 points, five rebounds and two assists. Noah Morgan added 21 points as well. Javon Freeman had a game-high 28 points and five rebounds for Valparaiso in the loss.

The Eastern Michigan Eagles (2-4) women’s basketball team fell to the Michigan Wolverines (5-1) on Wednesday, Nov. 27 at the Convocation Center. EMU got off to a slow start as they shot just 15.4% percent in the first quarter and weren’t able to recover as they fell 57-38. Natalia Pineda led the Eagles with 16 points and two rebounds.

The Eastern Michigan Eagles (2-2) women’s basketball team earned their second win of the season as they moved to 2-0 at the Convocation Center this year. The Eagles defeated Southeast Missouri State, 69-64, on Tuesday, Nov. 19 in Ypsilanti. EMU was led by freshman guard Aaliyah Stanley’s 24 points, four rebounds and two steals.

The Eagles upset North Texas (1-3) on Saturday, Nov. 16 at the University of North Texas Coliseum behind Ty Groce’s game-high 15 points.

The Eastern Michigan Eagles (3-0) men’s basketball team defeated Michigan-Dearborn, 72-59, at the Convocation Center on Thursday, Nov. 14. The Eagles were led by senior center Boubacar Toure, who finished with 15 points, 14 rebounds and one steal.

The Eastern Michigan (1-2) women's basketball team lost 79-77 to non-conference foe Youngstown State at the Beeghley Center on Saturday, Nov. 16. Jenna Annecchiarico was the leading scorer for the Eagles with 19 points and three steals. Freshman Aaliyah Stanley had a season-high 16 points and was 4-for-7 on 3-pointers.

The book, “DEEP” is Murphy’s lifelong story through his eyes. The Eastern Michigan women’s basketball team earned their first win of the season against the Olivet Comets on Friday, Nov. 8 at the Convocation Center. The Eagles bounced back from an 85-50 loss against Michigan State earlier in the week, defeating Olivet 95-38. EMU had five players score 10+ points in the blowout win.

Eastern Michigan started the 2019-20 campaign with a 93-51 win over Siena Heights on Friday, Nov. 8 at the Convocation Center. The Eagles brought three fresh faces into the starting lineup with Yeikson Montero, Noah Morgan and Darion Spottsville, while Ty Groce and Boubacar Toure were the only starters from last year in the lineup.
