“It will be my first Valentine’s with her. We’re not really doing anything because I’ll be in Grand Rapids and she’ll be here. So, we’re not going to be together on Valentine’s Day. I would love to be. I mean we’re for it. It’s a positive idea and nothing to really look down on. At the same time, everyday should be like Valentine’s.”

“Me and my lovely lady here, we are Christians and we don’t really feel the need to celebrate a certain kind of holiday, such as Valentine’s Day, because it’s so cliché. Every day we celebrate our love together.”

“This will actually be our first Valentine’s Day together. We want to celebrate it, but we’re both working the same day.”

“I think we need to be willing to give to other countries, both in monetary assistance or resource assistance and a time assistance.”

“I heard about it a long time ago, a living wage, where you get paid just for being a citizen. But I’m not sure that would work around the world. I guess lowering the cost of education to reach poor people, so that they have more access to schools.”

“Theoretically it would be impossible to end poverty, we could close a gap – that’s possible, but to end poverty, that’s impossible. There will always be people who have more money than others and in that case there would be poverty. But to ease the gap, you could say that people just need to help out more. Realistically, that probably wouldn’t happen either. Truly, I think to end poverty as we see it now, the best-case scenario would be to minimize the maximum value that any one person can have. Because as soon as people realize, ‘Oh I can’t make anymore money.’ They’re going to say, ‘Ok let’s make sure that they have to give their excess money away.’ So, in that case it would be forcing people to give. Not the best case scenario, but it’s the most realistic scenario.”

“I think a big step would be to start regulating factories that have gone overseas and make sure that they are paying a fair wage, like Nike, because they pay cents a day. Even though they are in a different country, they are still a U.S. company and should pay a higher amount to their employees.”

“I think one of the first steps that would be important is just awareness in general. Once people are aware of difficulties that other people are having instead of just thinking about their own difficulties, that would be a really big step toward ending poverty.”

“I actually spent my snow day doing homework most of the day. I took a nap in between and then I had a homework party. We made food and did homework together.”

“I slept in really, really late. I made myself pancakes then did some homework and watched TV. I didn’t get dressed all day and it was great.”

“I drove from my house at about three and unloaded my car for an hour. Then I watched hours of TV until my Internet went out, so I didn’t really do any homework. I saw my boyfriend and then I went to bed.”

“I spent my snow day with my family back at home, shoveling snow, then driving back in the really, really bad snow out to Briarwood for work at J. Crew.”

“I mostly did homework, really. I hung out with some of my friends for a little bit, but for the most part I just did homework and knocked some stuff out. I still had stuff due the next day.”

“I actually had an interview. I spent it digging my car out so I could get to Briarwood Mall.”

“I would say something that I could teleport through. Technology really scares me, but I would say teleporting. That way I could go anywhere I wanted to at that moment.”

“I think we’re pretty good right now. Maybe a ship that could exit the Earth’s atmosphere with ease, but not many people can fly, so I don’t see the point of that. It would have to be marketable.”

“A flying car would be really cool. It seems like you see it in older movies, so it would be something just cool and fun.”
