Women's Basketball Defeats Akron, 72-60

EMU women’s basketball participated in a conference matchup against the Akron Zips on Wednesday after coming off a win in a previous game against Western Michigan. EMU was looking for their second-straight MAC win of the season. The Eagles sought to do so all while being short-handed by having only eight players suit up. The Eagles still managed to pick up a win on the road, pushing their record to 9-6 with a final score of 72-60.

Eagles Soar to Victory Behind Minnie and Thompson IV

James Thompson IV and Elijah Minnie combined for 40 points as Eastern Michigan men’s basketball delivered a decisive 95-61 victory to Kent State. The Eagles struggled in the first half, only attempting one free throw and three offensive rebounds. Going into halftime, they led by eight with Thompson shooting 100 percent from both three inside the arc.

EMU Women’s Basketball Falls to UB in Overtime

The Eastern Michigan women’s basketball team competed in a conference matchup against the University of Buffalo at the Convocation Center on Wednesday. The game resulted in a 91-84 overtime loss for the Eagles. This is the team's second Mid-American loss, which pushes their overall record to 7-6.

EMU Falls To No. 20 Buffalo At Home

The Eastern Michigan Eagles hosted the the Buffalo Bills in a conference matchup late Friday night at the Convocation Center. The final score of the game was 58-74 with the Eagle’s losing by double digits. Their record fell to 6-8, and became Eastern’s third loss at home.

EMU Falls To No. 5 Kansas

Coming off a 90-72 win against Siena Heights, Eastern Michigan Men’s Basketball fell to the Kansas Jayhawks in a blowout loss on the road. The final score was 87-63, with the Eagle’s record falling to 6-7. They’ve lost their fifth straight away game, all by double digits. This game marked the first meeting between the two teams.

Men's basketball loses first game in the season against Indiana

Eastern Michigan University’s men’s basketball team traveled to Bloomington, Indiana to take on Indiana University, Nov. 24. The match marked the third game out of four for the Eagles during the Hoosier Tipoff Classic. EMU lost for the first time this year to Indiana by a final score of 67-87. The Eagles kept things close in the first half but just couldn’t manage to keep up with Indiana’s offense in the later stages of the game.

Men's Basketball earns 3-1 record in Hoosier Tipoff Classic

Eastern Michigan University’s men’s basketball team traveled to southern Florida for a match against the University of South Florida, Sunday, Nov. 26. The Eagles overcame a slim first half deficit to take the victory with a final score of 65-47. The Eagles played smothering defense in the second half which lead to the easy victory. The win marks the fifth in the season and gives them a 3-1 record in the Hoosier Tipoff Classic. The Eagles were lead in scoring by guard Paul Jackson who scored 15 with three other teammates joining him in scoring double digits.

Women’s hoops defeat Florida A&M, 83-61

The Eastern Michigan University’s women’s team started the 2017-18 season with a solid 83-61 win over the Rattlers of Florida A&M University, Friday, Nov. 10 at the Convocation Center.The Eagles (1-0) utilized a balanced scoring attack with ten players registering at least one point, and five scoring at least nine points. Offensively, EMU was more than efficient finishing 31-62 as a team from the field and 7-17 behind the three-point line. They also rebounded the Rattlers 44-40.

EMU's men's basketball undefeated in off-season

The Eastern Michigan University men’s basketball team hosted the University of Michigan-Dearborn for the team’s second match of the season Sunday, Nov. 12, at the Convocation Center. Unlike their match against Spring Arbor, U of M-D proved to be a more competitive opponent. In the first half, U of M-D shot the ball extremely well from behind the arc keeping them in the game. However, the Eagles proved to be the better all-around team, winning the game with a final score of 97-73. The victory starts the Eagles season off undefeated with a pair of victories at home.

Preview of the 2017-18 women's basketball team

The Eastern Michigan University’s women’s basketball season began Wednesday, Nov. 1 with a 70-57 exhibition win against Hillsdale College. For the 2017-18 squad, there's a lot more to prove after a rough season last year had the Lady Eagles finishing with a 6-25 record in head coach Fred Castro's inaugural season.

Shots don't fall in heartbreaker on Senior Night, 60-56 to UT

The Eastern Michigan men's basketball team was unable to keep its win-streak going as it fell to Toledo on Senior Day,60-56, on Friday night at the Convocation Center. Senior guards Willie Mangum and Ray Lee went a combined 9-30 from the field in their final home game.

​Eagles end seven-game losing streak against NIU, 84-68

The Eastern Michigan men’s basketball team ended its seven game losing skid and picked up a win against the Northern Illinois Huskies at the Convocation Center on Saturday. A 22-point game by EMU guard Willie Mangum helped the lift the Eagles (14-16, 6-10) over the Huskies (15-14, 7-9) along with his four assists.

Men's basketball drops fourth straight to soaring Akron

The Akron Zipps hit 18 threes which led to the 87-76 win over the Eastern Michigan Eagles at the Convocation Center in Ypsilanti on Friday night. The Eagles (13-12, 5-7) won the rebound  and turnover battles but were unable to keep up with jump-shooting of Akron (21-4,11-1). Akron had five players in double figures as the Eagles could not stop the offense of Zipps. EMU guard Willie Mangum led the way with his 22 points,five rebounds and two assists.

Eagles struggle down the stretch against NIU, 81-69

With a seven-point halftime deficit, Eastern Michigan was unable to come back and defeat the Northern Illinois huskies as the fell 81-69 at on the road on Saturday.  Coming off a loss to Kent State, the Eagles (13-10, 5-5)| could not afford to lose a game to Northern Illinois (14-9, 6-4) who the team was tied with for second-place in the Mid-American Conference West Division.

The Eastern Michigan football team came beck from a 21 point deficit to become bowl eligible for the first time in 20 years on Election Night at Ball State.
