Eagles fall 58-36 to Army

Eastern Michigan has lost two football games this season despite holding double-digit leads in both. The Eagles attempted their own comeback Saturday, getting to within a 36-30 deficit at the end of the third quarter, but fell well short, losing to Army West Point 58-36.

Ball State University dominated and outsmarted Eastern Michigan University in just about every aspect of the game after the first quarter. They especially dominated on offense by simply running the ball against the less than par rush defense of the Eagles.

It was a successful road trip for Eastern Michigan (1-1) as they accumulated 38 first half points in their 48-29 win to hold on and get the programs first road non-conference win since 1988, against Wyoming (0-2).

What was a strong start for the Eastern Michigan football team ended with a slow finish for the Eagles, as they fell to Old Dominion 38-34 to open the regular season at Rynearson Stadium.





Ibe and Zappone look to lead defense

Eastern Michigan football has seen plenty of recent struggles as a program, particularly on defense. Last season, saw a third consecutive 2-10 finish in which the defense averaged 41 points per game allowed. Despite that, there were bright-spots on the defense, primarily coming from the linebacking corps.
