The Ypsilanti Police Department announced early Saturday afternoon the fourth suspect in Tuesday’s armed robbery and assault of an Eastern Michigan University student was in custody.
Self Defense Training— A free self defense training class will be offered on Wednesday, Jan. 29 from 7-9 p.m. in room 208 at the Warner Gym, and Thursday, Jan. 30 from 7-9 p.m. Gym B Warner at Eastern Michigan University. Jan. 18 Police encountered a man yelling with a beer can in his hand at Ballard and West Cross streets at 8:38 p.m. Officers calmed the man down and found that he had warrants out for his arrest. The man was too inebriated to be taken to jail, so police released him to the hospital with a citation for drunkenness.
A school shooting on Tuesday rocked Purdue University. According to CNN, a suspect was taken into custody after the shooting took place near the electrical engineering building. The Indiana school’s police chief said that the shooter targeted a single person, then left and was arrested by a city policeman.
