Schmitt out for season

Eastern Michigan quarterback Andy Schmitt has been ruled out for the season because of a torn ACL in his right knee, as announced in a university release today.

The fifth-year senior was injured during the fourth quarter of his team’s loss to Michigan on Saturday at Michigan Stadium.

“It is always disappointing news when you lose a player to injury,” coach Ron English said in the release. “Andy Schmitt is and will continue to be a great leader and tremendous part of what we are doing offensively.”
