Ypsilanti fashion walks the runway

Ypsilanti’s fashion will come to life this week as local designers and retailers put on a runway presentation of their creations this Friday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. located at 76 N. Huron St. at the Riverside Arts Center.

The runway presentation will also include a sundress challenge competition in which designers will design and create an appropriate sundress and accessories spending no more than $30. Although the event begins at 6 p.m. the presentation is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. beginning with the sundress challenge. All of the businesses presented at the event are Ypsilanti-based, adding to the local theme.

Some of the retailers being featured in the show are Apple Annie’s, E & R Couture, Fantasy Attic, Heikk’s Decorated Apparel Studio, Mix New and Used, Morgan’s Clothing, Puffer Red’s, Rejoice Clothing Store, Salt City Antiques and Screamin’ Hot Shoes.

Other local businesses will be present including Aubree’s Pizzeria, Beezy’s Café, Haab’s Restaurant, Jonathon Thomas Catering and Sidetrack Bar & Grill and will be providing refreshments. Tickets are $25 and available to purchase in advance at riversidearts.org/ypsi-style-2013.
