I.M.A.G.E. hosts panel with lyricist Earlly Mac

On Monday, Feb. 18 2013, I.M.A.G.E. (Inspired Motivational Activists Geared Toward Education) hosted a panel with Detroit lyricist and Finally Famous alum Earlly Mac. The panel lasted for almost two hours and a variety of topics were discussed during the discussion.

On his humble beginnings:

“I went to Cass Technical High School in Detroit, Michigan. During that time I was producing music but when I was 19, my calling for rap prevailed which is why I decided to pursue rapping. I honestly became a man at 22 years old during this process.”

On meeting Big Sean:

“I met Big Sean a few years ago. He met Kanye at WJLB radio station in Detroit, and rapped for him and that’s when everything took off for him, and for me as well. I also met Mike Posner during that time.” (Mike Posner is a part of Finally Famous as well.)

On reaching success:

“It’s not what you know, it’s who you know. I asked God to allow me to attract positive individuals, and soon enough the right people surrounded themselves around me.”

Mac has consistently released good music (“Trampoline,” “Treadmill,” “Present,” etc.) that everyone can listen to. He has worked with artists such as Big Sean, Wiz Khalifa, Juicy J, 2 Chainz, Key Wane and Slum Village. His music has also been featured on every hip-hop blog online, so I encourage everyone to check him out and make sure to follow him on Twitter and Instagram @EarllyMac.
