Police Blotter, Nov. 2

Monday, Oct. 27

A Graduate Hall Director reported missing items from Wise Hall, including a wallet and a phone charger. The crime was reported to campus police at 5:38 p.m.

Two students reported stolen items from their dorm room in Walton Hall. One student reported the crime to have occurred between Oct. 3 at 1 p.m. and Oct. 6 at 1 p.m. The second student reported the crime to have occurred between Oct. 20 at 11 p.m. and Oct. 25 at 7 p.m.

Items from an unsecured locker in the Rec/IM were reported missing at 7:06 p.m. to campus police. The items included a backpack with texts and notebooks. No items have been recovered.

Housing staff reported the smell of marijuana on a group of three students. The crime was reported at 11:52 p.m. near the dining commons. When police arrived at the scene the students admitted to smoking marijuana off campus. The students have been referred to the Department of Student Conduct and Community Standards.

Tuesday, Oct. 28

During a traffic stop near Ballard Street and Emmet Street a male suspect was arrested on a warrant for possession of marijuana at 9:35 p.m. The suspect was cited for possession of narcotic paraphernalia.

Officers conducting a traffic stop near Huron River Drive and Ann Street at 10:27 p.m. smelled marijuana in the vehicle. The driver admitted to smoking marijuana and having it in the car. The suspect was cited for possession of narcotic paraphernalia.

A student reported a stolen wallet from the Rec/IM softball fields at 11:38 p.m. The crime was believed to have occurred between 8 and 11 p.m. No items have been recovered at this time.

Wednesday, Oct. 29

During a traffic stop near Adams Street and Washtenaw Avenue at 12:05 a.m., police smelled marijuana on the driver of the vehicle. The suspect was arrested for possession of marijuana and the case will be sent to the county prosecutor’s office.

Tools were reported missing from a maintenance area in Mark Jefferson around 12:23 p.m. The crime is believed to have occurred between Aug. 15 and Oct. 29. No tools have been recovered.

Police were called about a male suspect trespassing at the College of Business at 5:56 p.m. The suspect has previously trespassed at EMU three times. The suspect was escorted off campus and was cited for trespassing.

Thursday, Oct. 30

A male suspect was arrested for driving while intoxicated near Ballard Street and Cross Street at 12:37 a.m. He was cited for possession of narcotic paraphernalia and the case will be sent to the county prosecutor’s office for review.

A Graduate Hall Director of Downing Hall reported a crime that occurred in September 2013 after the student reported the crime Oct. 30, 2014. The female student reported that a male student grabbed her wrist and made her feel uncomfortable. The assault is being investigated.

A male suspect was reported to be trespassing on campus near Marshall Hall looking for recyclables to return for the deposit. The suspect has been cited two previous times for trespassing, the most recent was Oct. 27. The suspect was escorted off campus and was cited a third ticket for trespassing.
