Donald Scott, track athlete for Eastern Michigan University, took the silver medal at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in the triple jump (16.84 meters/55 feet 3 inches) and was named a First Team All-American on Saturday.

The senior earned sixth seed into the final and registered the best jump (16.75 meters/54 feet 11.50 inches), a personal best. He was beaten by Marquis Dendy from Florida (17.07 meters/56 feet).

Scott followed up with a second personal best and an Eagle first with a jump of 16.84 meters/55 feet 3-inches; the first to go over 55 feet. Dendy, allowing no room to slack, took the NCAA meet record and the gold with a jump of 17.37 meters/57 feet.

EMU heads to Raleigh, N.C., for the Raleigh Relays on March 27-28.
