EMU has announced Sara Tisdale as the head coach for Women's Lacrosse Program as of June 21. They also have announced that they would be adding women's lacrosse as the 19th varsity sport as of the upcoming school year.

Sara Tisdale is a very well accomplished program leader, she is a former program leader from CMU and has a career record of 105-63 throughout 10 seasons as a lacrosse head coach. She left the CMU program that she led for eight years which she built from the ground up which led to the national position, announcing a 2018 Southern Conference Championship, a 2022 Mid-American Conference Regular Season Championship, and a 2022 MAC Tournament Championship.

Tisdale also led CMU to their first NCAA Tournament in 2022 after winning the inaugural MAC Tournament.

Not only has she been successful on the leading the Chippewas, they have also have been successful in the classroom which has earned them a combination of 67 Southern Conference academic honors, including the Commissioner's Medal, the Honor Roll and membership on the All-SoCon Spring Academic Team in the two years that CMU was a conference member. A total of 34 members were named to the Academic All-MAC Team with a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or better

"I could not be more excited to join EMU Athletics," Tisdale said. "I want to thank Scott Wetherbee and President Dr. James M. Smith for entrusting me with building Eastern Lacrosse into a championship program. From the moment I arrived on campus it was obvious that Eastern is growing and thriving. Scott's vision for the future of EMU athletics and his commitment to building champions on and off the field made the decision to join EMU an easy one. As the sport of lacrosse continues to grow across the country, Eastern is primed to offer elite student-athletes a campus and community that is diverse and committed to maintaining an inclusive environment that will support their success on and off the field."

Vice President Scott Wetherbee announced on Dec. 22 that the head lacrosse coach Alicia Grovestone Jackson has officially resigned being a head coach and has welcomed a new head coach Sara Tisdale. In the meantime, Allison Lane has been serving as an interim head coach.
