Nightmare On Cross Street - Friday, Oct. 17 to Sunday, Oct. 19, 2025

For those who want to jump into Halloween early, Nightmare on Cross Street and the Skeleton Walk are happening every weekend this October in Depot Town.

This weekend, BOO lovers can enjoy scavenger hunts, live music, author spotlights and more. Those interested in shopping during the event can get 10% off purchases at participating retailers during the weekend. See more details below and on the YpsiReal.com website.

Friday, Oct. 17

Check out the Spooky Caboose, a haunted house mini attraction at the Depot Town's historic caboose, which also features a selfie railway station. The caboose, across from the Ypsilanti Freighthouse, will be open 6:30-9 p.m. Admission is pay what you can, or attendees can pick up free tickets at participating vendors.

Also available most nights is the Phantoms Trail Treasure Hunt, a riddle-filled adventure through Depot Town. Participants can pick up their first clues at any participating shop and solve their way through games, puzzles and surprises. The hunt can be completed all in one night or all month long until Oct. 25.

Saturday, Oct. 18

The historic Spooky Caboose will be open again starting at 6:30 p.m. Admission is pay what you can. Tickets are available at participating vendors. 

The A7MB marching band will provide live music from 6-7 p.m. Street performers will also be busy up and down Cross Street 6:30-8 p.m.

Sunday, Oct. 19

Author spotlights will be featured at the This, That, and the ODDer Thing store Sundays in October from 5-7 p.m. Participants will experience an event in the spirit of Halloween, with local writers and authors from Michigan sharing spooky stories and signing copies of their books. 

Monster Mash Party - Friday, Oct. 17, 2025

Best in Games, also known as BIG, at 4095 Carpenter Road, is hosting a costume dance event called the Monster Mash Party, starting at 10:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, 2025.

Halloween and costume fans ages 21 and older will have the opportunity to participate in a costume competition. Prizes will be awarded to the top five costumes, with the winner taking home $1,000.

Guest DJs will be performing during the party, which ends at 2 a.m. Admission is $44.52. Tickets can be purchased through Eventbrite

BIG is also hosting a Bingo Beatz event prior to the Monster Mash Party. Tickets for the bingo event start at $39.19.

Night Terrors - Friday, Oct. 17 to Sunday, Oct. 19, 2025

Wiard’s Orchards presents its Night Terrors event from Friday to Sunday, Oct. 17-19, 2025.

The event includes five attractions: The Asylum, Hayride of The Lost, Alien Caged Clowns In 3D, The Ultimate Haunted Barn, and The Mindshaft.

Tickets are available on Wiard's website. Costs vary by attraction and special offerings.

Wiard’s Orchards Country Fair - Saturday, Oct. 18 and Sunday, Oct. 19, 2025

The Wiard’s Orchards Country Fair has been a family destination for more than 188 years. On October weekends, the farm offers special tickets for a variety of activities. A full weekend ticket can be purchased for $26 on the orchard's online box office. In addition to the warm cider, fresh donuts and wagon rides, the farm offers special Halloween and fall attractions during October.

The attractions included in the ticket are the Corn Maze, Old West Wagon Rides, Bungee Run, Giant Slide and more.

Black Cat Folklore - Friday, Oct. 17 to Sunday, Oct. 19, 2025

Written by the cast and A.M. Dean, Kim Gray, and Aeron C. Wade, the Neighborhood Theatre Group’s “Black Cat Folklore” is a Halloween-themed live production that will be staged at The Back Office Studio, 13 N. Washington St.

The horror folk tales’ production is directed by Marisa Dluge and stars Kylista Geiger, Jennifer Jakubowski, Muthu Jayatissa, Jessica Lee, Patrice Linman, Greg Pizzino, Josh Stewart and Greg Woodring.

Show times are 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17 and Saturday, Oct. 18 and 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19. 

Ticket prices start at $12 for students, or $15 online for regular admission. At the door, tickets are $20. PayPal and credit card payments will be accepted.

Along with the show tickets, patrons can opt for these special packages and add-ons:

  • A season ticket package for four main shows at the theatre for $60. See full details on the theater’s website.
  • A companion Putt-R-Round mini-golf experience for $13.
  • Campfire floor seating with cross-legged sitting is available online for $15.

An intermission is included. The show is rated PG-13 for language and general scariness.

Holy Bones Artisan Market - Sunday, Oct. 19, 2025

Local artists and producers gather from 1-9 p.m. Oct. 19, 2025, for The Holy Bones Artisan Market in the Ypsilanti Freighthouse.

The market features vendors who specialize in arts and crafts. They will be featuring Halloween-style creations among other items. Participating vendors specialize in everything from dark and spooky art to gothic home decor, oddities and vintage finds.
