Eastern Michigan women’s basketball dispatches Robert Morris in home opener, 64-54

In just six games this season, the Eastern Michigan women’s basketball team has already surpassed the win total scored by the program throughout the entirety of the 2024-25 campaign.

Following a five game road trip to open the new year, the Eagles returned to the George Gervin GameAbove Center for the first time in 2025-26 — defeating the Robert Morris University Colonials by a score of 64-54.

Sisi Eleko continued her red-hot start to the new year, racking up her fourth double-double in six games and once again leading Eastern Michigan in scoring with 23 points and 11 rebounds. Eleko now takes sole possession of second place in program history for the most double-doubles as an Eagle, having scored one in over half her games donning Green and White thus far.

“Sisi [Eleko] is an incredible player and a very special person — I’m just really, really proud of the fact that I’ve had front row seats to her journey over the four years,” said Eagles head coach Sahar Nusseibeh of her leading scorer in a post game interview with ESPN+.

Eastern Michigan opened the game with a 7-0 run over the visitors and never looked back — taking a six point lead into the halftime break and scoring a season-high 24 points in the fourth quarter to close out the victory.

True freshman Peyton Hill continued the promising start to her collegiate career by contributing 17 points and six rebounds to the team’s offensive output, while Brooklyn Thrash added an additional 10 points and four rebounds to the home team’s statsheet.

The Eagles held Robert Morris to a paltry 32.7% shooting mark from the field and 11.8% from beyond the three point line — the third time this year they’ve held an opponent to 55 points or less on the defensive end. Eastern Michigan is 3-0 in games that feat has been achieved in 2025-26.

“Done being road warriors for now, it's great to be back home, and it's great to get a win,” Nusseibeh said.

With the win, Eastern Michigan improves to 3-3 on the season and 1-0 in Ypsilanti, while Robert Morris falls to 4-2.

Next time out, the Eagles hit the road once more for a trip to the University of Detroit Mercy to face off against the Titans on Sunday, Nov. 30, 2025 at 1 p.m. Viewers can stream all of the action live on ESPN+.
