The Eastern Michigan University women’s basketball team continued its winning ways Wednesday, besting Ball State 64-54.

The Eagles (14-3, 4-1) were led by guards Cassie Schrock and Tavelyn James. Schrock scored a game-high 24 points to go along with her four assists, and James scored 20.

Sophomore forward Paige Redditt secured her first career double-double, scoring 10 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.

The win for EMU pushes it to the top of the Mid-American Conference West division.

The Eagles are now unbeaten at home on the season, and their next contest comes on the road at Bowling Green State University. Tip off is set for 2 p.m.

Men lose on the road at Central

The EMU men’s basketball team lost its second straight Wednesday night, falling to Central Michigan University 63-71.

The Eagles (9-8, 1-3) couldn’t overcome their poor shooting early on, as they were 7-for-28 from the field (25 percent) in the first half.

Carlos Medlock led the Eagles in scoring, as he had 16 points and four assists.

Jordan Bitzer scored a game-high 28 for CMU (8-8, 3-1).

EMU’s next game comes this Saturday at the Convocation Center, as its set to take on Ball State. Tip off is slated for 2 p.m.
