An Eastern Michigan University student reported an assault after being grabbed by a man near Ford Hall around 7:50 p.m., according to an EMU safety notice sent out to the campus community.

The female student said she was walking alone through campus when she noticed a subject was following her.

As the student continued to walk by Ford Hall, the suspect approached her from behind and grabbed her around her upper body. The student was able to break free and ran away from the scene.

The suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction and no injuries were reported by the victim.

In the release, the student described the suspect as follows:

African American male, medium complexion, between the ages of 16- and 20-years-old, 5’5’ – 5’9’, last seen wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt and unknown color pants.
