The Eastern Michigan University men’s basketball team stunned the University of Cincinnati and the college basketball world with a 64-56 victory, the program's first win over a "Power 4" conference opponent since defeating the University of Michigan on Dec. 9, 2014.On Nov. 26, 2025 the Eagles took on the Bearcats for their second of three games during the Thanksgiving break as Eastern returned to the court following the blowout loss against No. 6 ranked University of Louisville on Monday, Nov. 24, 2025. Cincinnati, coming off the win against the New Jersey Institute of Technology, entered the night 5-1 with their only loss coming from the same Louisville team that the Eagles had faced just two days prior.

Eastern Michigan improved to 4-7 after a decisive 24-9 victory on the road against the Ball State University Cardinals. The Eagles’ defense has taken a clear step forward in the second half of the season, and it showed against Ball State. Eastern didn’t allow a touchdown, surrendered the fewest points of any game this year, and held the Cardinals to 225 total yards.Eastern Michigan had a great game statistically. The Eagles recorded four total sacks, which is the most they’ve posted in a game this season. Defensive back Joshua Scott also recorded an interception.

Eastern Michigan University will welcome a new leader in student engagement next semester. On Jan. 5, 2025, Emma Wuetrich will assume the role of Director of Campus Life, stepping into a position that has been vacant since the summer of 2024. Wuetrich, an EMU alum and the current Coordinator of the LGBT Resource Center, was selected following a months-long search that concluded this fall.
