The Latino Alumni chapter awarded six El Jefe scholarships during the Quinceanera hosted by the Latinx Student Association at Eastern Michigan University on April 9, 2024. Marina Reyna, the chapter's president, said she was very impressed with the applications this year and it was the first time the chapter has awarded that many scholarships at the event.

The student production of "Cyrano de Bergerac" by the Eastern Michigan University Theatre will begin with a preview on Thursday, April 11 at 7 p.m. This preview will allow the audience to talk with the members of the production following the performance. When the moon passes between the sun and the Earth on Monday, April 8, it will completely block the daylight for a number of U.S. cities. Ypsilanti, home to Eastern Michigan University, isn't one of them. Ypsilanti, with about 99% of the sun blocked, will still see many of the unusual effects of an eclipse.
