A victory at last! After seven weeks of the regular season, the Eastern Michigan University football team defeated the Army Black Knights 48-38 for their first win of the 2012 campaign.

After six games, the Eastern Michigan University football team is still looking to earn their first win of the season. The Army Black Knights, who have a record of 1-5 and a top-ranked rushing offense, are coming to Rynearson Stadium Oct. 20 at 1 p.m. for EMU’s third home game in a row.

Bronson Hill had a memorable game to remember Oct. 13 when he ran for 283 yards and four touchdowns in his first career start for the Eastern Michigan University Eagles. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough for the Eagles, as the Toledo Rockets came away with a 52-47 shootout victory at Rynearson Stadium. EMU now drops to 0-6 (0-3 Mid-American Conference) on the season while Toledo runs their record to 6-1 (4-0 MAC).

The Eastern Michigan University football team’s struggles so far this season continued Oct. 6 as the Kent State Golden Flashes defeated the Eagles 41-14 during Homecoming weekend. The Golden Flashes exposed the Eagles on offense, defense and special teams for the blowout victory.

The Eastern Michigan University football team enters the Homecoming contest Oct. 6 still looking for their first victory of the season. The task gets more difficult with the Kent State Golden Flashes coming into Rynearson Stadium. Kent State is 3-1 overall and 2-0 in the Mid-American Conference and boasts a very strong offense.

The Eastern Michigan football team played its best game of the season so far, but still came up short losing 23-7 to the 21st ranked Michigan State Spartans (3-1). The Eagles had a 7-3 lead going into the half, but were unable to score a point after halftime as the team wasn’t able to keep up with the Spartan’s offense.

Eastern Michigan University football fans have been waiting to see what this year’s team is capable of after having its best seasons in the last couple of years. College football is in its fourth week now and the Eagles aren’t starting off as good as they were last year.

The Eastern Michigan University football team has given up 1,543 yards in the first three games of their 2012 campaign. EMU has given up 937 of those yards on the ground. It is tough to win a
football game at any level with that lack of production from the defense, and the team’s 0-3 record shows it.

What once appeared as an optimistic and promising season for the Eastern Michigan football team turned into a nightmare in West Lafayette, Ind. Sept. 15. The Purdue Boilermakers (2-1) blew out the Eagles (0-3) 54-16, giving EMU their third loss this season.

The Green Bay Packers’ defense held their own, and then some, in Thursday’s 23-10 victory over the Chicago Bears. With that win, the Packers won their seventh straight game against an NFC North opponent. More importantly, they won their first game of the season after their loss to the San Francisco 49ers in week one. The Packers improved their record to 1-1, while the Bears fall to 1-1.
