Two is shaping up to be an unlucky number for the Eastern Michigan University men’s basketball team. Two conference games and two Mid-American Conference losses—both losses by two points. Saturday’s loss was to the Bowling Green State University Falcons, 46-44.

This defeat marks the fourth loss for the Eagles, all of them coming away from the Convocation Center. The Wolverines improved to a perfect 12-0.

Ron English needs to go. In four years coaching the Eastern Michigan University football team, he has managed to lead his team to a record of 10-38. Breaking down the wins by year will give you an even bigger perspective on exactly how bad this is.

Matt Balkema, who wears the number 45 for the Eastern Michigan University men’s basketball team, was a man of many talents in high school. A three-sport athlete, Balkema attended Cousino High School in Warren, Mich., which is about 30 minutes northeast of Detroit.
