On Friday, an international teleconference at Eastern Michigan University addressed several aspects of gerontology and health care facing older adults in room 108 of the Marshall Building. The conference included multiple fields and was broadcasted live to 5,000 medical personnel from 32 hospitals in Ukraine alone.

If you had walked into Corner Brewery at 7:30 p.m. last Thursday, you would have been greeted by a unique ambiance. The brewery hosted a birthday party for a very special guest, the Violin Monster himself, as he warmed up on his violin. The lights had been dimmed to set the appropriate mood and a few test howls could be heard, followed by applause from 200 eager guests adorned in party wear.

The art gallery in the Student Center is holding a new exhibit, Perspectives, curated by professor Diana Pancioli. According to the Perspectives press release, “Perspectives presents new sculptural ceramic work exploring a diverse set of ideas.” It is also the first exhibition for sculptural ceramics the University Gallery has hosted, according to Gregory Tom, the program’s director.
