The NFL’s second week starts Thursday night with the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Bears facing off at Lambeau Field. The Packers go into the game coming off a 22-30 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
The NFL made headlines on Friday when they announced that a panel had overturned the suspensions of New Orleans Saints linebacker Jonathan Vilma, defensive end Will Smith, free-agent defensive end Anthony Hargrove and former Saint and now Cleveland Brown linebacker Scott Fujita. The four players were officially eligible to play in the season opener on Sunday.
The Eastern Michigan University football team opened up their home schedule with a 31-14 loss to the Illinois State Redbirds, which was the first matchup between the two schools since 1981. EMU’s record fell to 0-2 while ISU improved to 2-0.
