At noon on Friday, Oct. 4, the Eastern Michigan University Public Safety Communications Center will test its emergency notification system. The Outdoor Public Address System also will be tested, which will activate seven outdoor speakers that can be heard across campus. Staff and students might hear and see notifications on their mobile phones, their computers, and their desktop phones.

Eastern Michigan University linebacker Luke Murphy has earned Mid-American Conference (MAC) Defensive Player of the Week honors for his standout performance in the Eagles' 52-33 road win over Kent State on Sept. 28. This recognition marks the fifth consecutive week an EMU player has been awarded a MAC weekly honor, reflecting the Eagles’ strong start to the 2024 season.

Thanks to a grant from the UPSHER Institute for Civic Education, Eastern Michigan University will be participating in the Ethics Bowl for the first time at the collegiate level in November. The Ethics Bowl is a tournament put on by the Association for Practical and Professional Ethics that encourages students to examine and discuss different ethical dilemmas in a debate style setting.
