02414 -- Scott Stephenson Eastern Echo Scholarship:  This expendable scholarship is for the benefit of student(s) in the School of Communication, Media & Theater Arts in the College of Arts & Sciences.  It will be awarded to a full or part-time junior or senior EMU student majoring in journalism and working for the Eastern Echo.  The student should be working to self-finance their education and not be eligible for need-based grants.

00825 -- Student Media Development:  Provides support for the Student Media program.

EMU to close all residence halls, students must move out by March 31

EMU announced on Thursday that effect March 31 at 5 p.m., all residence halls will close. International students, students who live far away, and others with special circumstances will continue to be exempt and can continue living on campus. These students may be asked to move to consolidate depending on occupancy.

EMU extends online-learning format through rest of the semester, postpones spring commencement

EMU President James Smith announced via email on Wednesday, March 18 that all in-person classes and events will be suspended through the rest of the semester, until April 27 and that the online-format would continue. The administration has referred to university operations as not being "closed,” but "open with modified operations.” It was also announced earlier this week that Spring Commencement has been postponed with a later date to be determined.

First round of funding for Faculty First initiative announced, 14 faculty projects funded

Updated Feb. 17 at 3:10 p.m. A previous version of this article incorrectly stated that GameAbove announced the first round of funding for the Faculty First initiative. The initial funding has come from GameAbove, but it’s the Provost’s office that approves and announces the faculty projects. GameAbove is not involved in choosing which projects get funding.
