EMU women’s golf secures historic second-place finish at Alice and John Wallace Invitational

Eastern Michigan University women’s golf delivered a historic performance at the Alice and John Wallace Invitational in Palm Desert, claiming second place with a 9-over 861 and finishing ahead of multiple top-15 programs, including the UCLA Bruins and Vanderbilt Commodores. Led by twins Janae and Jasmine Leovao, who tied for fourth at even par, the No. 33 Eagles matched tournament champion USC for the lowest final-round score, signaling their rise as legitimate national contenders.

Savannah De Bock leads women’s golf to EMU record in Hawaii

Savannah De Bock (Ecaussinnes-d’enghien, Belgium/Institut de l’Enfant-Jésus-Lycée/Georgia) shined once more in the Rainbow Wahine Invitational held at the Kapolei Golf Course in Kapolei, Hawaii; but the rest of the Eastern Michigan women’s golf team were no slouches either - five of her teammates putting in career low 54 hole scores to help the program put up an 879 total score, besting their previous record total of 880 set in 2015.

GameAbove golf performance center: a new era for EMU golf

EMU has officially opened the GameAbove Golf Performance Center at Eagle Crest Golf Course, enhancing its men’s and women’s golf programs. Launched on Jan.16, 2024, the 13,000-square-foot facility features advanced training amenities funded by an $8 million gift from the GameAbove alum group. This center positions EMU as a leader in collegiate golf. It symbolizes a commitment to the university and the Ypsilanti community, with plans to generate revenue through community events and elevate student-athlete performance.

Eastern Michigan’s Golf Coach Bruce Cunningham retires after 30 years

After 30 transformative years at Eastern Michigan University, Head Men's Golf Coach Bruce Cunningham announced his retirement on May 24. Cunningham, who led the team to multiple Mid-American Conference titles, leaves a legacy of excellence, and the newly established GameAbove Golf Performance Center ensures EMU's continued success in collegiate golf.
