Ypsi gets a holiday makeover

In spirit of the holiday, members of the Eastern Michigan University Student Government and the community joined forces to make the city of Ypsilanti magical and a little brighter with hanging holiday decorations on Monday, Dec. 2.

Because it’s getting wet, gray and cold, I am craving food that is both spicy and comforting. Stuffed peppers can be both of those things. it’s a combination of rice, vegetables, tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese. I love stuffed peppers because that is almost a list of my favorite things to include in a meal.

Grab your turkeys and latkes, because this year was the first time in 125 years that Thanksgiving and Hanukkah fell on the same day. The blogosphere has dubbed this day “Thanksgivukkah’” in honor of both holidays, but the holiday received mixed reviews.

Big Sean, one of the most popular artists in hip-hop since his debut album in 2011 “Finally Famous,” returned to his home state to perform at the Eastern Michigan University Convocation Center on November 20th, bringing his North American tour to a close. On Dec. 2nd, he will start the leg of his European tour until Dec. 18th.

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, and unlike Christmas, I don’t have to worry about finding the perfect present for anyone. Without the pressure of romance, or the lack thereof, it’s much less stressful than Valentine’s Day. For Thanksgiving, all I have to do is bake a lot of desserts: apple pie, pumpkin pie, cheesecake and my favorite, gingersnaps.
