Regents OK an increase in scholarships

On the 17th anniversary of the passage of the Violence Against Women Act – Sept. 13 – Vice President Joe Biden started “1 is 2 Many,” a campaign designed to raise awareness of sexual assault among women ages 16-24.

Loginwill, a site invented by a junior at Eastern Michigan University and his cousin, has created a buzz around campus because of its interesting premise, which involves individuals designating family members and friends as cyber “beneficiaries.”

On Friday, the 10th-year anniversary of the U.S.-led invasion, Michigan Peaceworks — an Ann Arbor-based organization dedicated to peace, social justice, human rights and civil liberties — gathered in Ypsilanti to protest the war in Afghanistan.
