Week in and week out over the last couple of seasons, fans have watched the sun set on most Saturdays with Eastern Michigan University football being embarrassed by schools in the Mid-American Conference and teams from other leagues such as the Big Ten Conference and American Athletic Conference. Even worse, the same old script of whether or not EMU athletic director Heather Lyke will relieve head coach Ron English of his duties now or at season’s end has reached its apex. Given the double-digit losses of the last five weeks (45-7 at Penn State, 28-16 at Rutgers, 51-20 vs.

Army’s triple-option offense took over in the second half Saturday afternoon against Eastern Michigan University in a 50-25 victory at Michie Stadium in West Point, N.Y. EMU (1-5, 0-2 Mid-American Conference) lost its fifth consecutive game, letting up at least 42 points for the third consecutive week.

When the culture of hip-hop music was birthed 35 years ago, many individuals had mixed emotions about this new trend. It was meant to diverge from the harsh realities of urban decay that were impossible to ignore in New York City in the late 1970s.

Everyone hears of the excitement of Fashion Week in major cities like New York, Paris and Milan. Eastern Michigan University students had a taste of their own Fashion Week leading up to the big fashion show “La Dolce Vita, The Sweet Life” on Oct. 10.








EMU football blown out by Buffalo, 42-14

While making history in the process, the University at Buffalo Bulls dominated a struggling Eastern Michigan University Eagles defense for its first Mid-American Conference victory of the season this Saturday at UB Stadium. Since its inaugural meeting in 2001, the Bulls defeated EMU (1-4, 0-2 MAC) for the first time in program history with a 42-14 victory, which included an offensive showcase by UB (3-2, 1-0 MAC). The 28-point margin was the second largest win for the Bulls this year, falling short of a 29-point win it had against the University of Connecticut last week.
