Loyola-Chicago wins against EMU 64-54

The Eastern Michigan University women’s basketball team lost Saturday to the University of Loyola-Chicago Ramblers at the Convocation Center 64-54, in front of 244 fans.



Miranda Tate dismissed from women's basketball team

Wednesday was a rough day for the Eastern Michigan University women’s basketball team. Hours after finding out that junior forward Olivia Fouty would miss the rest of the year recovering from knee surgery; the team announced that senior guard and team workhorse Miranda Tate was dismissed from the team for violating team rules.

Wrestling team pinned at Midlands Championship

As 2012 drew to a close, the Eastern Michigan University men’s wrestling team competed in the 50th annual Ken Kraft Midlands Championship hosted by Northwestern University this past Saturday and Sunday in Evanston, Ill.

Eagle women drop tough game to Tulane, 71-65

In front of 1,523 fans, the Eastern Michigan University women’s basketball team dropped a nail biter to the Tulane Green Wave in the semifinal round of the DoubleTree Classic at Devlin Fieldhouse in New Orleans, La. 71-65.

Eagles come up short against Grizzlies, 59-57

The Eastern Michigan University men’s basketball team lost a heartbreaker to the Oakland University Grizzlies on Saturday, 59-57 in front of 830 devoted fans at the Convocation Center. Saturday’s loss is only the fifth loss of the year for the Eagles and the first in front of the home crowd.

Julea Ward case resolved Eastern Michigan University has settled the case of Julea Ward, who was released from the EMU counseling program for refusing to counsel a gay student. Ward will be awarded $75,000, according to a statement released by the university.

Eastern considers rebates on tuition

In an effort to encourage improved graduation rates, Eastern Michigan University’s student government is supporting a new tuition rebate incentive. The program, conceived by Student Body President Matthew Norfleet and Vice President Desmond Miller, will award students who meet the necessary requirements a rebate of any tuition increases over the course of their college career.

Student artist wins esteemed theater award Victoria “Tori” Tomalia has won the Don and Elizabeth Doyle Fellowship Special Recognition Award for her offerings to theater for youth. Tomalia is an Eastern Michigan University graduate student studying applied drama and theatre for the young.
