Enrollment to increase by fall '11

Enrollment for Eastern Michigan University’s 2011 fall semester stands at 14,576 compared to 14,351 last year at this time, according to a report from the division of enrollment.

Mondro joins basketball staff

On June 1, head coach Rob Murphy and the Eastern Michigan University men’s basketball team announced Kevin Mondro will be joining the Eagles as an assistant coach for the 2011-12 season. Mondro is one of many new faces soon to be seen on the Eagles’ sidelines, including Murphy and assistant coach Mike Brown.

Championship hopes slashed by Kent State

The season ended for the Eastern Michigan University baseball team the same way it has for the last three seasons, with a defeat in the semifinal round of the Mid-American Conference Tournament. The Eagles’ 8-0 loss against Kent State Saturday afternoon ceased any hopes of their second MAC championship in five years.

DREAM Act returns to Senate

The Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM) Act was reintroduced to the Senate May 11, by Senator Richard Durbin (D-ILL) and, if passed in its current form, would allow children of illegal immigrants already in the U.S. to obtain a green card.
