Drive-by shooting injures one person

One person was hospitalized in a drive-by shooting Saturday near the intersection of Ballard and Cross streets in Ypsilanti, according to a release from police.

Despite injuries, tennis comes out on top

The Eastern Michigan University women’s team won Saturday, picking up its third straight victory at the Chippewa Racquet Club. It defeated Duquense University, 5-2, at the first meeting of the schools.
