Both of Eastern Michigan University’s swimming teams claimed second place finishes in the EMU Invitational Friday and Saturday. On the men’s side, Eastern Michigan took first place with 1,144 points over Oakland University, which scored 1,042.

The Eastern Michigan University’s men’s track and field team had five athletes compete in the Findlay Oiler Opener on Friday and Saturday and left the competition with a 1-2-3 sweep in the men’s heptathlon.

With high tempo offense and suffocating defense, the Eastern Michigan University women’s basketball team earned a non-conference road victory on Dec. 4 by defeating Loyola University 82-64, improving to 5-0 on the season for the first time since the 2004-05 season.

According to a source, Colorado State University-Pueblo head coach John Wristen was in Ypsilanti on Thursday being interviewed by Eastern Michigan University athletic director Heather Lyke for the same position.
