Men’s track team wins EMU Classic

The Eastern Michigan University men’s and women’s cross-country teams raced to victories in the EMU Fall Classic on Friday, Oct. 25. The meet was held at the Green and White’s home at Hudson Mills Metropark-North Course in Dexter, Mich.

Soccer beats Akron Zips, 4-1 on Senior Day

The Eastern Michigan University (10-6-2, 7-2-1 Mid-American Conference) women’s soccer team sent its five seniors out on top, beating the University of Akron Zips 4-1 in the final home game of the regular season at Scicluna Field on Sunday.

EMU Club Hockey wins 4-3

The Eastern Michigan Universiy Eagles Club Hockey team beat the Oakland University Golden Grizzlies 4-3 on Friday. Junior defenseman and captain Jordan Roemer said he was optimistic and felt prepared going into Friday’s game, even though the EMU Eagles (5-6) lost to the Golden Grizzlies (6-5) 10-2 a week prior.

A pair of second-half goals helped the Eastern Michigan women’s soccer team clinch its spot in the 2013 Mid-American Conference tournament, with a 2-0 victory over Kent State University on Oct. 20 at Zoeller Field.

For Eagles to stop NIU, Lynch can’t run ball

Lynch broke a Football Bowl Subdivision quarterback record with 316 rushing yards on 32 carries. He also ran in three touchdowns and threw for 155 yards and another touchdown. He’s fourth in the FBS with 932 rushing yards and ranks first among quarterbacks.

Ron English reflects on Reed at the MAC teleconference

Magnetic is what Eastern Michigan University head coach Ron English remembers Demarius Reed most for. “He was a guy that was magnetic,” English said at the weekly Mid-American Conference head football coaches teleconference today. “The team really gravitated towards him and was a really competitive, smart and tough football player.” Reed was found dead on Oct.

The news is a broke city plans to help pay for a new sports arena. I was as confused as I’m sure anybody would be when I heard the city of Detroit, which filed for bankruptcy in July, planned to help pay for a new arena for the Detroit Red Wings.
