Letter: Halle labs should require clean-up

Students need to use provided wipes on public computers

I am a student worker at one of the computer labs in Halle Library. I have been here about three years and have witnessed a lot of sick people using the computers on a daily basis. But what I saw really concerned me, especially with the all the new H1N1 worries.

A college student, age 18-24, blew his nose onto his fingers, licked them off and continued using a computer keyboard in the lab. If I saw this, just imagine the things I am not seeing.

We provide sanitizing wipes to anyone who comes into the labs, but I don’t think people are using them. What can we do to make sure germs are not being spread around like this? If we required everyone one to wipe down their computer before and after they used one I think this would be a huge help.
